CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPUTERS

Computer have the following characteristics depending on their type and use:

1. The ability to perform calculations at a fast speed.
2. The ability to take in information and to store that information for future retrieval.
3. The ability to take in and stor a small variety of instructions for execution.
4. The ability to use simple logical rules to make decisions for their own internal control or for the control of some external activity.
5. The ability to communicate with other computer systems.
6. To carry out communications and analysis accurately and speedily.

We shall now eleborate the characteristics specified in 1, 3 and 7.
