 SUMMARY OF THE LESSON IN ENGLISH

Introduction: Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali poet and writer. He wrote poems, novels, short stories, plays and essays, etc. Many of them were translated into English by himself. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1913. He did not write only to amuse the reader. There was some lesson too. In The Horse' we have a moral lesson in the end. The greatness of man's heart lies in his accepting the burdens of life. 

Creation of horse: After creating the universe the Creator wanted to make a new species of animal. Most of the heavier and harder stuff had been used up. The lighter was in store. This time the Creator used only a little of the harder materials.

He made the horse. Qualities of horse: The horse had a desire for freedom. It ran fast just for the sake of running. It loved to run. The Creator gave an open-field to it. The horse had no horns or claws. It could not bite. It could help on the battle-field, but was not fond of fighting.

Captured by Man: Beyond that field lived Man. He had many burdens. He saw that he could shift some of his burden on the back of the horse. He captured it. It kicked wildly at prison wall. Man took firm measures against the horse and tamed it.

Set free: The horse used to neigh with sorrow. One day the Creator heard the distressed neighing of the horse. He looked down but the horse was not in the open field. He blamed Death. Death showed Him where it was. It was in the house of Man. He compelled Man to set it free.

Man deceives: Man corded together the front legs of the horse and set it free. It could only hop about like a frog. From heaven the Creator could not see the cord. He felt shame for the creature. He asked Man to take it back. Man tactfully said, "But, Father, what a burden it will be to me!"

Moral: The Creator answered, "Yes, but by accepting the burden, you will show your greatness of heart."

परिचय: रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर एक बंगाली कवि और लेखक थे।  उन्होंने कविताएँ, उपन्यास, लघु कथाएँ, नाटक और निबंध आदि लिखे। उनमें से कई का अंग्रेजी में स्वयं अनुवाद किया गया।  उन्हें 1913 में साहित्य के लिए नोबेल पुरस्कार दिया गया। उन्होंने केवल पाठक को खुश करने के लिए नहीं लिखा।  कुछ सबक भी था।  द हॉर्स ’में हमारे पास अंत में एक नैतिक सबक है।  मनुष्य के हृदय की महानता उसके जीवन के बोझ को स्वीकार करने में निहित है।  

घोड़े का निर्माण: ब्रह्मांड बनाने के बाद निर्माता बनाना चाहते थे। जानवर की एक नई प्रजाति।  अधिकांश भारी और सख्त सामान का उपयोग किया जा चुका था। लाइटर स्टोर में था।  इस बार सृष्टिकर्ता ने थोड़े कठिन पदार्थों का उपयोग किया। उसने घोड़ा बनाया।  

घोड़े की योग्यता: घोड़ा स्वतंत्रता की इच्छा रखता था।  यह दौड़ने की खातिर तेजी से चला।  इसे चलाना बहुत पसंद था।  निर्माता ने इसे एक खुला-क्षेत्र दिया।  घोड़े के पास कोई सींग या पंजे नहीं थे।  यह काट नहीं सकता था।  यह युद्ध के मैदान पर मदद कर सकता था, लेकिन लड़ने का शौक नहीं था।

आदमी के कब्जे में: उस क्षेत्र से परे आदमी रहता था।  उसके ऊपर कई बोझ थे।  उसने देखा कि वह अपना कुछ बोझ घोड़े की पीठ पर स्थानांतरित कर सकता है।  उसने उस पर कब्जा कर लिया।  इसने जेल की दीवार पर बेतहाशा लात मारी।  आदमी ने घोड़े के खिलाफ कड़े कदम उठाए और उसे चुनौती दी।

मनुष्य छल करता है: मनुष्य ने घोड़े के सामने के पैरों को एक साथ जोड़ा और इसे मुक्त किया।  यह केवल एक मेंढक की तरह आशा कर सकता था।  स्वर्ग से विधाता नाल नहीं देख सकता था।  उसने जीव के लिए शर्म महसूस की।  उन्होंने मैन से इसे वापस लेने के लिए कहा।  आदमी ने चतुराई से कहा, "लेकिन, पिताजी, यह मेरे लिए क्या बोझ होगा!"

नैतिक: निर्माता ने उत्तर दिया, "हां, लेकिन बोझ को स्वीकार करके, आप अपने दिल की महानता दिखाएंगे।"
